COVID-19 is horrible, its ruining lives across the globe and there's not much we can do about it as the cure has yet to be found for this horrid virus.
The pandemic, lockdown and having to watch a large tory man child spout information that is already public knowledge can be quite hard on the brain but moaning about the current situation won't do much except make you angrier than you were at the start. So I feel like I've got to remind people that it ain't all doom and gloom this virus has actually done some good like restoring my faith in humanity. Seeing the communities come together to support the poor and needy is the one good thing to happen during Covid-19. In this article, I'm gonna prove to you that there is actually some good left in the world and even through a pandemic, Inverclyde will always be a community that gives back.
Musical Happenings
A brave girl Shannon Scott sang Dancing the sky by Dani and Lizzy from her doorstep and dedicated it to all the NHS frontline workers. I spoke to Shannon's mother, Ann, who said "Shannon chose this song as its one of her favourites and she was thinking of the people who have lost their lives as not a lot is mentioned about the people who have passed away from the virus and this was dedicated to everyone out there doing their bit help" Well done Shannon!!
Isa just canny stop singing
Lynette "Isa" Beaton Notre dames favourite music teacher has been spreading joy far and wide across Inverclyde with her night time live streams for the kids singing lullabies to help get the wee ones off to sleep as well as her boogie bugs page where she continues to entertain those wee ones singing all sorts of nursery rhymes. I've sat many times and watched her Thursday night live stream and it really does get your spirits up and there's always some good throwback songs. You can find Lynette live streaming on the Westend open mic Thursdays group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/248441039883587/?hc_ref=ART4IAVAXbpOTrbNQHgo1pTcvKyGLuZ7ikHjxVOMP5fU2O9lW_yUc7iIUnhsaQ4tJX8&ref=nf_target )
Lynette Beaton also is in the fundraising game too alongside Lauren O'Donoghue in their popular duo "The Laurettes" (@thelaurettes) who have raised a massive amount of money for the NHS.

they've spent over £650 on requests of juice, ice lollies, crisps, toiletries, hand cream, tea, coffee, chocolate, sweeties and much more. They delivered everything to Compassionate Inverclyde: Capturing moments that matter and it was made available for any wards at the IRH. They have raised £7,000+ and they're hoping to smash that £10,000 target...Can you help? please donate and check out their live stream's because they are doing absolutely fantastic work
Businesses giving back
The shabby2sheek studio in Inverclyde is one of the many businesses being affected by the current state of affairs however even a global pandemic won't stop these guys they're currently looking for donations of old wooden furniture to create one of a kind items to raffle off in aid of the Inverclyde COVID-19 fund. if you can please donate to help out and give someone's kids a new toy to keep them occupied you can contact them on Facebook and Instagram @theshabby2sheekstudio.

Charity tees near-sellout
Gourock business, The vintage popup shop run by Gillian McGilp has raised even more money for charity by selling charity t-shirts for Inverclyde royal hospital starting off by being a simple idea to raise money for the local hospital she came up with a charity t-shirt and let's face it we're all wearing one at the minute I don't think Gillian expected the T-shirts to nearly sell out but I'll definitely be picking one of them up! Well Done Gillian!!

Man on! Inverclyde
Man on! Inverclyde is a peer support group for the men of Inverclyde as there is still a stigma on men opening up about their feelings in 2020. Man on! was set up to let the men of Inverclyde know that its okay to not be okay and if they need to talk there are always people there willing to listen. Everyone has been affected by suicide at some point in their lives and the people who run the support group are just ordinary guys who have experienced the impact of the lows in life and they know that having someone to talk to makes it a whole lot easier. They aren't specialists or samaritan volunteers they are just looking to get men talking, making the change and taking it one day at a time. Gareth McGonet and the team at B12 Entertainment have set up a virtual music festival to help raise awareness and funds for the group. They have a zoom membership for unlimited meetings so please contact them if you need to talk. It's okay to not be okay if you can please donate through the link below https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/man-on-inverclyde-fundraiser?fbclid=IwAR2QslaypexlWqXSF8c7i84eRvJ9fK5b0XR3B2l8Q276uUOOGqB4NAOtlDU
So here's a few of my favourite faith restoring acts of kindness done throughout Inverclyde if there are any acts of kindness you think should be recognised please email me erinkellymanagement@gmail.com Inverclyde is full of wonderful people all doing their bit to help the cause. (P.S. I want to make a point clear I didn't include any of the volunteer forces as I wanted to showcase the smaller acts of kindness however I will be doing something in the future talking about you guys don't worry your time will come!!!)
